My name is Kelli McCann. I lost my oldest child and only son Benjamin in September 2024. He died from acute mitragynine intoxication (kratom).

 Benjamin became aware of kratom while researching safe and natural alternatives to prescription pain medication for his psoriatic arthritis pain. Like so many consumers, Benjamin was led to believe kratom was about as “addictive as coffee” and impossible to die from because of a “built-in safety mechanism” where you would “simple vomit” if you took too much. Sadly, this false belief cost Benjamin his life and cost me my only son.

Benjamin was incredibly intelligent, a self-taught musician, creative, hardworking, and so funny! Benjamin’s family love & miss him every moment of every day.
