A Heart That Is Forever Broken

Michelle Ivey Jordan was born and raised in Kaufman, Texas, and had lived Southern, CA, New Mexico and Florida before moving to Branson, MO in 2015, Michelle was a very talented singer who won a Josie Award for Song of the year in 2015 with her hit “Razor Blades and Whiskey”, which had an accompanying video that was produced in Hollywood.

She was a beautiful, 5”3” dynamo with red hair, green eyes, and a Texas accent and I kidded her that men would pay a cover charge just to hear her say the "Pie”, she was working at a venue in Branson when her guitar player quit and she hired me, and we became friends immediately.

We soon discovered an attraction that was undeniable, and ended up getting married in October of 2017, and we were never apart after that, except for brief periods when she went back to Texas to visit her daughter. We were soulmates…….. we were perfect together, and disagreements were very rare.

We worked a musical duo called “Branson’s Dynamic Due” and she also became a home caregiver, in which she excelled at because of her love for people, especially the elderly, and her incredible cooking skills. Michelle was a very hard worker as well a good wife and mother.

Michelle suffered from arthritis in her knees and back. Around 2019 Michelle developed Lupus and started taking Kratom, in which she waws told it would give her energy, in which she needed to keep up with her day job. Michelle was also told that kratom would help her with pain which she lived with everyday.

My beautiful wife died suddenly and completely unexpectedly on September 5, 2025, when I awoke I founf her unresponsive and lifeless on our couch. The autopsy she died from mitragynine poisoning which is the main alkaloid in the kratom plant.

All I know that this day forever changed my life. The love of my life and soulmate was gone. It’s all I can do is get out of bed every day and keep living. Many times, I wish that God have taken us both. But I know Michelle would not have wanted that or for me to be sad. However, I won’t rest until kratom is outlawed with a federal ban in this country. It killed my beautiful young wife. Kratom is killing more and more spouses, brothers, sisters, and young adults all over the country.

Forever loved and always missed

Your loving husband and Soulmate

Jeff
